Binghamton University hosts eating disorders program

Binghamton University’s Eating Awareness Committee will present “Declaring Independence from Eating Disorders: A Personal Journey,” by author Jenni Schaefer, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Chamber Hall of the Anderson Center.  The program is free and open to the public.

Schaefer, the author of “Life Without Ed: How One Woman Declared Independence from Her Eating Disorder and How You Can Too,” will share her struggle with anorexia and bulimia.    In her book and presentation Schaefer uses examples from her personal experience to help others begin the journey of recovery from an eating disorder.

Schaefer is a regular guest on national radio and television, including appearances on Dr. Phil and Entertainment Tonight. A popular guest speaker, she has made presentations across the country and writes regularly for self-help/recovery publications.

The program is sponsored by the Eating Awareness Committee and Sodexho Campus Services at Binghamton University.  For more information call (607) 777-2772.
