 Binghamton University Alumni Association welcomes new board members

BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Binghamton University Alumni Association announced that it has selected four new members to serve on its Board of Directors. Directors serve two-year terms with a maximum of three consecutive terms.

Paul Aversano received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Binghamton University’s School of Management (SOM) in 1993.  He is currently a managing director and national practice leader of the Transaction Advisory Group at Alvarez & Marsal.  Aversano has been an alumni panelist/speaker and moderator of the SOM Young Alumni Advisory Council panel, a board member for the SOM Young Alumni Advisory Council from 2002-2005, and  a keynote speaker for Beta Alpha Psi honor society.  Aversano is married to Sylvia (Crecco) Aversano, a 1993 graduate of Binghamton University.  They reside in Manhasset Hills, NY.

Carol S. Dean earned a master of arts degree in comparative literature from Binghamton University’s Harpur College of Arts and Sciences in 1983, and a doctoral degree in educational theory and practice in 2003 from the School of Education and Human Development. She was awarded a Couper Fellowship for her commitment to public education and high academic standing. Dean is currently the Curriculum Coordinator for the Sidney Central School District. She resides in Oneonta, NY.

Dennis C. Garcia received a bachelor of arts degree in political science in 1989 from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences and received a juris doctorate from Columbia University in 1992.  Currently, Garcia is the Central Region counsel/senior attorney at the Microsoft Corporation.  Garcia is an alumni admissions volunteer and has attended alumni events in his area.  He resides in Chicago, IL.

Samir B. Shah received a bachelor of science in management from the School of Management in 2000.  Currently, he is an engagement manager in the Financial Services practice at McKinsey & Company.  Shah is an alumni career network volunteer and a SOM finance mentor. He has attended SOM Young Alumni Advisory Council events, Homecoming events, and club and professional events. Shah is married to Anu Sahi-Shah and they reside in Chicago, IL.
